Lizard Head Peak (winter)
This is a winter scramble on Happy Lake Ridge in the northern Olympic mountains near Lake Crescent. It's 12 miles round trip and 4,700 feet of elevation gain.

Drive US 101 to the Storm King Ranger Station on the south shore of Lake Crescent.
approach & ascent
Hike the Barnes Creek Trail from the Storm King Ranger Station (617 ft). The trail follows Barnes Creek for four relatively gentle miles then leaves the trail and steeply ascends a ridgeline for another two miles to Lizard Head Peak (5,373 ft).
