Icicle Ridge
An easier route up to Icicle Ridge than 4th of July Creek. It climbs 1,700 feet in 2.4 miles to reach the ridge. Once atop the ridge it's possible to continue along the ridge to extend your hike.

Take US 2 to Leavenworth. When headed east into town and just before town turn right onto the Icicle Creek road. Drive 1.4 miles on Icicle Creek road and look for the Icicle Ridge Trailhead sign on the right, near some houses. Turn right, then left a short distance to the trailhead.
on the trail
The trail switchbacks up the east-facing side of the ridge for 2.4 miles to a saddle on the ridge at 2,900 ft. Extend your hike by continuing southwest up and along the ridge. Trail is mostly in the forest until reaching the ridge top. Enjoy lots of east-side flowers in the spring.
