driving directions

Turn north onto Beckler River Road (Forest Road 65) from US 2 roughly one mile east of Skykomish. Drive 12.7 miles to Jack Pass and turn right onto Forest Road 6550. Continue about one mile and turn left onto Forest Road 6554 and drive 8.7 miles to the trailhead.

on the trail

The Evergreen Mountain Lookout Trail (No. 1506) begins by climbing steeply though the still evident 1967 burn. It enters the Wild Sky Wilderness just after a half mile from the trailhead. In another half mile, the trail's grade eases a bit.  Reach a gap at one mile and 5,100 ft.  Here the forest turns to meadow and shortly find one final steep push to the lookout that was built in 1935 and restored n the 1990's. The trails continues  beyond the lookout for another 0.1 mile where there are many more good views.
