on the trail

At English Camp on Garrison Bay, this hike provides an opportunity to view the blockhouse, storehouse, hospital, and barracks, which are remnants of the mid-19th-century Pig War. Leaving English Camp, you continue along a bluff and then through a madrona forest to reach Bell Point. After looping back, you start an uphill hike through a forest of oaks to reach the top of Young Hill for a grand view of the island and surroundings.
