Sourdough Gap

Sourdough Gap is an easy, 7 mile in-and-out day hike with 1,000 ft in elevation gain beginning at Chinook Pass near Mount Rainier. This trail connects with the Crystal Lakes trail and the two can be combined for a glorious alpine lake outing with a car shuttle.

on The Trail

You begin at Chinook Pass and follow the Pacific Crest Trail for a 1.2 miles until you reach Sheep Lake. Continue passing through forests and meadows for another 1.2 miles to reach the gap and fabulous views of Mount Rainier.
