Beetop-Roundtop Trail

Bee-top Round-top One of the most beautiful trails in northern Idaho, this trail has spectacular views of Lake Pend Oreille, Hope, Clark Fork and all the surrounding mountains and valleys.

getting there

trestle creek road

From Sandpoint, ID, drive SR 200 east 12 miles to Trestle Creek Road (Forest Road 275), turn left and continue 13 miles to the trailhead (5,000 ft).

Mid-Trail

Follow the Trestle Creek Road approach and continue on Forest Road 275 for another 3 miles and turn right onto Lightning Creek Road (Forest Road 419). Drive 5 miles and turn right onto Wellington Creek Road (Forest Road 489). The trail crosses the road in 8 miles (5,080 ft).

east spring creek road

From Sandpoint, ID, drive SR 200 east towards Clark. Just before reaching Clark, turn left onto E Spring Creek Road. It becomes Stoney Brook Road and then back to E Spring Creek Road before reaching the trailhead (2,320 ft).

on the trail

The trail starts at 5,000 ft and goes up over 6,000 ft where it follows a ridge going up and down a bit. In the last few miles, it descends steeply to 2,320 ft, ~4,000 feet in about 5 miles.
