North Fork Skykomish River: Trout Creek to South Fork

Trip

Whitewater Packraft - North Fork Skykomish River: Trout Creek to South Fork

An active class II+ section of the wild Skykomish River that drains the Wild Sky Wilderness Area. There may be the option to continue downriver to run a short class III section at the bottom of the run.

  • Class II+ River, Class III River
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi

Details to follow once registration closes.

The season to run the Skykomish is short and highly unpredictable. This river has a large drainage and is known to change flow dramatically overnight.  Beckler River will be plan B if flow dictates.

By putting in below the final class IV rapid on the North Fork and taking out above the class III section, this run is suitable for class II+ paddlers.  For those who want to add a 1/2 mile of class III we will leave an exit vehicle at Power Line take out.  For those who want to run one additional class III+ drop, Llama Ledges, we will leave another vehicle at the South Fork confluence take out.
