Our walk will start at the recently relocated Van Doren’s Landing Park in Kent where there are restrooms. After a short tour of some of the new park  and Green River Natural Resources Area trails we will follow a new section of the Green River Trail south to the Veterans Drive bridge over the Green River. From here we will walk uphill on the sidewalk of Veterans Drive to the Grandview Apartments and climb a short flight of steps to the edge of the Grandview Off-Leash Dogpark. From there on a clear day we will see over the Kent Valley and East Hill to the Issaquah Alps and through the gap between Cougar and Sqauk Mountains have a glimpse of Mt. Index and Glacier Peak.

From Grandview Park we will next descend north on the sidewalk beside Riverview Blvd. S passing through little Riverview Park and along 40th Ave S. to reach the Robert Morris Earthworks Park  where the earthworks have been fashioned from the side of a hill. Our route will then take us east alongside 40th Place S.to return to Riverview Blvd S. Here we would walk through "The Parks” community to reach Frager Road. A short distance south along this traffic-free section of road we will cross back over the Green River by a footbridge and return to Van Doren’s Landing Park.

The mileage for this loop walk is close to 5 miles with a total elevation gain of 300ft.  We will travel at an average moving speed of 2.5mph and we will stop several times for a break. You can either bring a brown bag lunch to eat in the park at the end of the walk, go elsewhere to find an eatery or travel home for lunch.
