Sea Kayak - Tacoma Narrows

Owen Beach to Titlow Beach, SK III round trip

  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 13 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 2.0 ft
  • Maximum Currents: 3.2 kts
  • Pace: 3.0 kt

We will meet at Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park at 9:00 am, and launch at 10:00 am.

This is a fairly mild current day down the Narrows, and we'll wait until slack to head back up.  Dry suit and warm clothing required for this winter paddle -- high winds will cancel the paddle.

We will plan on eating a picnic lunch at Titlow Beach.  Bring rain gear and warm drink/food.

It's possible that the bathrooms at Owen Beach as well as Titlow Beach will be closed (at least according to their websites) so be prepared for "alternative options" for bathroom breaks.

Don't forget to bring a face mask and attempt to socially distance.
