This is a student paddle for the Tacoma Basic Sea Kayaking course.  Our route is a Puget Sound classic going from Point Defiance Park to Titlow Beach Park and back.  We will have assistance from the tidal current going both ways.  With situational awareness we can witness the effects of current and back eddies and learn how they affect our decision making, both in route planning and on the water.   We will perform self and assisted rescues on our return to Owen Beach.
