Sea Kayak - Stretch & Reach Islands

Figure eight circumnavigation of Stretch and Reach Islands to satisfy the South Sound Islands paddle pin with a possible view of an indigenous petrogylph.

We will meet at Allyn Waterfront Park. Please arrive with enough time to be ready to launch at 10am. We will land back at Allyn around 3-3:30pm.

There is a $5 parking fee at the ramp. There are restrooms available.

We will follow the shoreline south through the passage between Reach Island and the mainland, and then turn east to have lunch at Stretch Point State Park.

After lunch we will continue in a figure eight to the northern tip of Reach Island before crossing to Rocky Point. From there we will follow the shoreline to look for the Victor indigenous petroglyph.

These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
