Naturalist Trip - Tieton River Nature Trail

Join us for this beautiful hike along the Tieton river through sagebrush flats, with views of The Royal Columns, to a large meadow.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Casual
  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 764 ft

Specifics regarding meeting time and location will be sent to registered participants three or four days prior to the hike.  For your transportation planning, we will be meeting around 9:30 am at the Oak Creek Wildlife Area Visitor Center.

We will follow the trail enjoying beautiful views and spring wildflowers.  We hope to reach the meadow and lunch or snack there, before returning.  There is a plant list for the area which I will provide.  This trail is exposed to the sun most of the way, so sun screen and protection, plenty of water, snacks and lunch will be important as well as a day pack with your 10 ESSENTIALS. Hopefully we won’t have rain, but dress in layers and have good rain gear.  Although I’ve hiked this trail several times at this time of year, I’ve not seen ticks or rattle snakes,  but they may be present.
