Snoqualmie Valley Trail

Trip

Naturalist Trip - Stillwater Natural Area

Enjoy a morning stroll on an old railroad bed as we view this wetland area searching for migratory and resident birds. We will walk slowly and stop often for approximately 3 hours. Our focus will be on birds but we may see mammals, flowering plants and reptiles too. Welcome INW Students! Please see Leader's Notes below for Current INW student priority registration instruction.

Meet at 9:00am in the parking lot about a quarter mile west from the Stillwater Store along SR 203. Look for a dirt road driveway. The wooden sign is a little obscured by vegetation. I use the Stillwater Store as the location for google maps.

There is no toilet here and few places to go off trail to take care of your need. There is no restroom available at the Stillwater Store either. Best to find a restroom at a nearby facility on your way before you arrive.

The goal is to bird for approximately 3 hours while being safe and having fun. We will walk together at a slow pace and stop often to listen, search for birds and observe them. Sharing our skills and knowledge will make us more successful.

We'll start out walking toward Carnation for about 1 hour then turn around and walk in the opposite direction towards Duvall then walk back to the parking area.
