From Snoqualmie Pass to Olallie Meadows there are meadows of wildflowers, flowering shrubs and unique wetland plants. There will be frequent stops to identify plants and animals.

Members of the Naturalist Study Group and students in the Introduction to the Natural World class are encouraged to register. However, this trip is open to all Mountaineers members. According to the Washington DNR Natural Heritage Program, areas within the meadows under the Snoqualmie Summit’s chair lifts are considered “high quality ecosystem” (link). Although we may not have the expertise to identify the rare plants that are said to occur there, there will be many flowering plants and shrubs to grab our attention. In Olallie Meadow wetland, we'll see the carnivorous English sundew (Drosera anglica). Here's a picture I took a couple years ago
