  • Mileage: 3.0 mi
  • Pace: Slow with many stops

We will meet at 8:30am at the Soest Garden Fountain, 3501 NE 41st  St, Seattle WA 98105. The fountain is  located just east of the building  in the garden area. The restrooms are in the building but the building doesn't open until 9am. Unfortunately there is no convenient place to pull off the trail for a bio break so please stop at a location along the way to use the restroom before you arrive.  We will however stop by the restroom about 10am as we head toward the Yesler Swamp.

The goal is on birding.  We will walk together at a slow pace and stop often to listen and search for birds.  We'll also identify early spring flowers, trees and reptiles as we encounter them. We'll start with the  Union Bay Natural Area  then return to the Center for a restroom break, then continue to the Yesler Swamp area.
