Meet at 8:30 AM at the Soest Garden fountain just east of the Center for Urban Horticulture. We will make a restroom stop at the Center as we make our way from the swamp to the natural area.  The restroom opens a 9 AM.

We will walk slowly and stop often in order to find and identify birds and observe their behavior.  We will spend approximately 3 hours between the Yesler Swamp area and the Union Bay Natural Area.  Bring binoculars and a spotting scope (optional) if you have one.  All experience levels are welcome.  Birdwatching trips are a great way to learn about ways to identify birds and the multiple field guides and birding apps that can assist you.  If you don’t yet own binoculars you are still welcome to join the trip.  Trips are a great way to meet birdwatchers and naturalists of all experience levels and interests.
