  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 700 ft

Meet at Counterbalance Park in Seattle's lower Queen Anne (700 Queen Anne Ave N) at 9:30 AM.

This hike is part of the Winter Conditioning Hike Series hosted by the Foothills branch. It is not part of a course or program. Like any other open hike, it is open to all Mountaineers members.

We will casually explore Queen Anne, aiming for at least 1,000 feet of elevation and eight miles. There will be several places we can stop for pictures. The specific route is TBD and somewhat flexible. We'll explore stairways, parks and may make a pit stop for coffee in the main Queen Anne business district. The hike will end at the starting point.

The goal is a moderate pace but please plan to stay with the group, waiting to let others catch up as needed. Please also note that this hike is in a heavy traffic area. As such, please use caution when crossing streets.
