Day Hike - Squak Mountain: May Valley Access
Let's get ready for the upcoming hiking season by hiking in the lowlands! Get outside and on the trail with your fellow graduate alumni and leaders from the Foothills GoHike: Beginning Hiking Series! GoHike is working to continue to provide opportunities for beginner hikers or those who are looking for easy to moderate hiking opportunities outside of our annual GoHike Course season.

Meet at 8:45am at the trailhead in the Squak Mountain State Park parking lot and be ready to hike at 9am.
- There is a vault restroom at the parking lot
- Discovery Pass required
- Directions: The park is located just south of Issaquah. Exit I-90 at Exit 15 and turning southbound on Issaquah-Renton Road, drive 4 miles, then turn left on the May Valley Road. Drive 2.5 miles to the Squak Mountain State Park parking lot (21500 May Valley Road) on the left. Do not drive up a gravel road right before the actual parking lot.
It is important that participants look at the stated hike description, distance, pace, elevation gain and consider your current fitness level in determining if this hike is a good fit for you. If you have any questions, please contact the trip leader in advance. A leader may look at your profile and recent activities to ensure that they think you are ready for their hike. They may email or call you to ask you about your hiking history and conditioning activities. Some leaders may be using Leader Permission Required. you will need to request their permission to register and follow their instructions for applying. Failure to do that may result in you not being allowed to reegister for the trip.
Priority registration is given to GoHike: Beginning Hiking Series graduate Alumni Course members. Graduate alumni will need to hold a GoHike Badge and have registered for the GoHike: Beginning Hiking Series - Alumni Course.

If there are any unfilled spots on this hike, the hike will open up on the Wednesday before the week of the hike to general members, with leaders permission, for Mountaineers members interested in a beginning hiking experience.
Required Equipment
Leaders will send out a Hello Hiker email prior to the hike that may include recommendation or requirements for equipment.
