Day Hike - Snow Lake

After-hours Conditioning Hike at a Moderate Pace

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

4:30 PM, location will be in welcome message.

We will only go to the viewpoint above the lake. There may still be enough snowpack to require microspikes and trekking poles. Bring a sack dinner and headlamp.

"After Hours Conditioning Hike at a Moderate Pace" is not a series anyone joins. It is a label so people understand that our goal is to:

  • Condition for summer hiking - these are "real" hikes. If you do not have a pack with appropriate gear, you are not conditioning.
  • Our pace is moderate - about 2 mph (travel time). We have a time constraint in that we need to be back at the cars before dark. Sometimes we need to be back before a gate is locked, If you do not know if you can maintain that pace, please cancel and sign up for a morning hike. That way you can time yourself without getting an entire group's cars locked in overnight.
  • The hikes are after-hours. Please cancel and sign up for a day hike if you do not like to hike in the evening.

The hikes are open to all members for whom those goals are a good fit.
