Day Hike - Lower South Fork Skokomish River

Get into big trees, lush forest, and beautiful fall foliage on this FAMILY hike on the east side of the Olympics. Adults must be accompanied by a child.

Meet at 9:30 at the Olympic National Forest HQ for carpool or caravan to the trailhead.

Beautiful hike through big trees---weather at this time of year is variable.

We will take a leisurely pace on this in and out trip.

Note that this is a family trip and all children must be registered with an adult.  Adults wishing to take this hike without a child must request special permission.

Parents must bring a backpack with a waste strap and family ten essentials including first aid kit for family.

Children must bring backpack with a waist strap, ten essentials appropriate to their age, including spare food, spare clothing, water, and a whistle.

Good hiking shoes required.

At this time of year you will likely need rain gear and layered clothing.  Pay attention to weather.

Please bring a sack lunch and trail treats to share.
