This is a strenuous hike, the last part is especially steep. We will not reach the true summit of Bandera. If the day is fine, we will have good views where we stop. If not, we can still enjoy the Bear grass meadow. We will hike at a moderate pace - approx. 2 mph while moving. That is my pace and I can't lead any faster. If it is a hot day, we make take a detour on the way down to Mason Lake.
Improvements have begun to the forest service road. Should be a better drive this year.
