Day Hike - Crystal Lakes (Mount Rainier)

Take a short but steep hike on a wide trail to visit two lakes in a beautiful craggy setting.

  • Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,300 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,828 ft
  • Pace: 1.8 mph + 1000 ft/hr

Carpool will meet at US Forest Service Ranger Station, 450 Roosevelt Ave E, Enumclaw, WA 98022 at 6:30am. I expect riders to compensate their driver at $0.18 mile. For this trip that would be about $12.00 for the 70 miles roundtrip from Enumclaw to the Crystal Lakes Trailhead.

For those who want to meet at the Crystal Lakes Trailhead, we are aiming to be there about 7:30am.

Assuming SR410 is opened past the Crystal Mountain turnoff by this time.  This is a shoulder season snow probing hike.  Hiking poles and foot traction required for possible lengthy sections of snow approaching the upper lake.
