This day trip will be an awesome family winter adventure: snowshoeing, hot drinks, and lots of snow play!
Route information: We will follow the Iron Horse - John Wayne Trail along the western shore of Lake Keechelus. This gentle trail used to be a railroad so it is wide and relatively level, making it a great kid-friendly trail for learning how to snowshoe.
Gear: The Mountaineers will provide all snowshoeing gear (snowshoes and poles)! Please wear proper snow play attire.
Getting there: Take Exit 54 off of I-90 (2 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto WA-906 and then an almost immediate left to stay on WA-906. Continue about 0.4 miles and turn right. The Hyak Sno-Park will be on your right (WTA). *We will set up a carpooling page for participants.*
