Please meet me and co-leader Steve Thompson at the trailhead leading north out of the upper Paradise parking lot at 10:00 a.m. on 2-18-2023. This assumes the gate at Longmire opens at 9:00; a 30 minute drive to Paradise; 30 minutes to find parking, sort your gear, take a bio break and make your way to the meeting spot. Our meeting spot is marked by the red arrow in this photo of the upper Paradise parking lot. It is on the north side (the Mt. Rainier side) of the upper parking lot roughly half-way between the visitor center and the Paradise winter restroom complex.

Leader's notes

Experienced snowshoers and fast / fit friends: Be prepared to travel at a pace comfortable for our entire party. We'll move as briskly or sedately as is required to stay together. If you have never climbed 1,300 feet before be prepared for a very vigorous workout.
