High Lakes Loop (winter)

Trip

Basic Snowshoe - High Lakes Loop (winter)

A moderately easy snow shoe trip with an elevation gain of 900 ft. Explore Lost Lake, and enjoy views of Stevens Canyon, Lake Louise, Faraway Rock and Reflection Lake.

  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 900 ft

Meet at South Hill Park and Ride, 3300 94th Ave E, Puyallup, WA at 7:00 am.

This will be a mentored trip for Dan Casady.   Expect the pace to be easy and casual with the primary focus being everyone's safety and having fun.    The snowshoe trip will start from the Narada Falls parking lot.  The trails themselves will be covered with snow but our approximate route will be to follow the Narada Falls Trail for about half a mile to the Lower Lakes Trail.  Then follow the Lower Lakes Trail for another half mile to the High Lakes Trail.  From there, we will follow the High Lakes Trail for just over a mile to where it reaches the Mazama Ridge Trail at Faraway Rock.  Keep you fingers crossed for good weather.   If we are lucky, we should have some beautiful views from the ridge.

The location for the trip will change if the gate at Longmire doesn't open that day.  In that case, the backup plan is to  explore the Wonderland trail to the Cougar Rock campground starting and ending at Longmire.
