Basic Alpine Climb - Sloan Peak/Corkscrew Route

Single-day climb of Sloan Peak via Bedal Creek approach. Priority to Tacoma Basic Alpine students in need of a climb to graduate.

The objectives for the climb  are:
  • Have fun and enjoy each other's company.
  • Make for the summit, conditions permitting.
  • Return to the trailhead safe and sound.
On this trip we expect to move continuously as a group at a moderately steady pace with at least one 5 minute rest break every hour/1,000 feet of elevation gain until we reach our destination where we'll have a 15-20 minute rest break for lunch, before returning to the trailhead.
A "Welcome Climbers" confirming email will be issued to the roster no less than 72 hours before the activity with finalized details.
