Meet at the Talapus Lake Trailhead at 10:00 AM Thursday morning.

This low key hike will offer kids a fun outing while enabling parents a chance to apply their new backpacking skills and confidence. This should be accessible to most children. The two night trip affords room for day hikes, fishing, or naturalist activities on the second day. Both lakes are known for catchable trout. The Thursday late morning departure enables a relaxed ascent with minimal crowds. There are pit toilets.  Camp-experienced canine companions could be included if there is space and mutual agreement by all participants.
