Ozette Triangle

Trip

Backpack - Ozette Triangle

Let's make s'mores and sandcastles! This is a kid friendly backpacking trip to the Coast.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Casual
  • Mileage: 9.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 400 ft

Ozette Ranger Station - more details forthcoming in an email the week before the trip.

First night we'll stay at Wedding Rocks and have a beach fire with s'mores.

Second night at Sand Point, which has a gorgeous giant sand beach to build castles and play in the waves.

We'll have an opportunity to see the petroglyphs made by the ancestors of the Makah tribe on our hike.

There are toilets at Cape Alava and Sandpoint, but not at Wedding Rocks.

Bear Canisters are required on the Coast

Water on the coast contains tannins, cryptosporidium and giardia, so a filter is a must (cannot use iodine). I plan on bringing Aquamira, but it takes several hours to purify Coast water.
