Backpack - Ingalls Creek

A short, easy going jaunt out to a lovely campsite on a creek. Registration priority for Backpacking with Kids 2023 and 2022 course participants until 6/1 and then registration available to any adult with a child with leader permission.

Ingalls Creek Trailhead Parking Lot - details will be provided a week before trip via email. 

This is an easy going family friendly backpacking trip with priority for Backpacking with Kids 2022 and 2023 course participants. 

Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass required for parking. 

Trip Plan: 

Thursday, 6/15 - Arrive at Ingalls Creek Trailhead at 11:30am, ready to go at 11:45am - hike 2.25mi, 800ft gain to our camp - which is a lovely, large camp with a small shallow swimming hole for littles and a large talus field to explore.

 

Friday, 6/16 - Hang out at camp, explore creek and talus field etc

 

Saturday, 6/17 - Pack up camp in the mid-morning to afternoon and head back to parking lot - maybe get post backpacking treats at The Rock (great place for ice cream, clean bathrooms and other tasty things)

  • Tent with footprint/ground tarp
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Bear canister or Ursack 
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
