Staircase Ranger Station Trailhead Friday at 9AM
Permit: Olympic NP, 6 people, 3 days, 2 nights at Flapjack Lakes. Permit cost was $102 ($17.00/person).
Day 1 (Fri Aug 23) – Backpack from Staircase Ranger Station TH to Flapjack Lakes (7.0 mi/3,316’)
Day 2 (Sat Aug 24) – Day hike to Gladys Divide (2.8 mi/1,120’)
Day 3 (Sun Aug 25) – Backpack from Flapjack Lakes to Staircase Ranger Station TH (7.0 mi/331’)
Leader Permission Required
1) Must have Backpack Skills Badge or be current Backpack Student
2) Must have fitness level required, especially for Day 1
3) Goals: Stay Safe & Have fun.
An America the Beautiful Pass is required to park at the Staircase Ranger Station Trailhead. Community bear wires are available at Flapjack Lakes.
We will shoot for about 1.5 MPH for the climb up to Flapjack Lakes, but we will keep the group together and hike at the speed of the slowest backpacker. Picture taking and breaks are encouraged.
