*** BACKPACKING WITH ENERGETIC DOG(S), BEGINNER STATUS NOT REQUIRED ***

**NOTE: We have 3 dogs signed up for the trip, I won't be letting any additional dogs join

1) I bring my dog backpacking, he's a little rambunctious so if you are afraid of energetic dogs, this might not be the trip for you. He will be kept on leash or tied up at all times, and we will probably hike in the back. Once he meets everyone he tends to chill out. He is super friendly and loves everyone though. Ideally this is a hike for folks that *like* dogs.

2) There may be other dogs so it's important for folks to be ok with dogs. Dogs typically don't have good trail etiquette - they get in the way, bump into and possibly jump on people, stop to sniff frequently but are fun and are enthusiastic!

3) This is mostly  an abandoned gravel road, it's sometimes a trail but mostly this is a gravel road walk.

4) This will be a very social and chill backpack, the purpose of this trip is to socialize, get to know everyone, and have a good time in the woods on the river. If you don't like group situations, hiking with a group, don't like socializing and getting to know new folks this might not be the trip for you.

5) The goal of the trip is to camp at abandoned car campground at the edge of the National Park boundary.

6) We will hike at a leisurely pace, aka sloowwww, we have all day to get to camp. If you have issues keeping a slow pace or get impatient waiting or need to hike ahead, this might not be the trip for you.  There are some steep-ish hills but we will go very slow.

7) If we need to relocate the trip, we will pick something with similar mileage and gain. I'm open to suggestions.

8) Leader permission so I can ask a few questions about your experience (no worries if you're a beginner, as long as you have all of the required gear and some hiking experience), and to be sure folks are aware of all of these details.   I will give permission as people ask for it, but you are still responsible for registering when registration opens, I won't be keeping track of who asked first.

9) Since we'll have such a long time at camp, I recommend bringing games and a desire to have fun with each other in camp.

*** I'll ask the secret password when you request to join which is "Shadow" (my dog's name). ***
