Tour intended for developing ski tourers to gain experience in a relaxed setting.
Jolly Mtn WAS a favorite touring destination in the '90s when the clear cuts were newish -- but timber growth since 2000 has made the "Christmas Tree Farms" not so fun for skiing - However the 2017 Jolly Mtn Fire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Mountain_Fire) and in particular the Fire Line opened up along the old descent route has opened up the forest again.
This tour will be my first return to the area since the fire, so expect there to be some extra work in routefinding.
We will plan on skiing to the ridge top (5000ft) and skiing down from there and perhaps making an extra 1000-1500ft lap if the snow is enjoyable. (Note the climb to the actual summit involves a lot of low angle traversing and doesn't provide much in the way of good skiing, so we'll plan on skipping that)

Note: A Winter Storm Warning, Extreme Avalanche Forecast from NWAC, Freezing Rain or "Chains Required" on the highway will cancel the trip. If NWAC forecast is for a High avalanche hazard -- inbounds lift skiing will be a fallback option considered.
