We will spend the whole morning reviewing and practicing ice-ax skills and navigation skills. This activity is intended for anyone who hasn't practiced their skills in a while or for students just learning them. Then, after lunch, we will use our skills to complete a snow scramble, climbing the highest peak of the Crystal Mountain ski resort area. On the way down, we will enjoy a fantastic glissade.
Note: this trip is EXTREMELY popular. It will fill within a minute of registration opening. Set an alarm and sit by your computer at the designated time. Good luck.
Note: two spots are reserved for Assistant Leaders. Please only sign up for one of those spots if you are seriously considering becoming a scramble leader at some point.
Note: Destination subject to change based on how much snow melts in the next two weeks. We will go where we need to go to find steep firm snow with a safe runout.
