Strenuous & beautiful scramble of ~9 miles and ~4400' with glorious views of the SW aspect of Mount Rainier and the Sunset Amphitheatre. Calls for a variety of skills, so a great 2nd or 3rd scramble. The approach follows the old boundary trail, ascends the ridge that is W of point 5614, traverses N at ~4500' for a quick crossing of the basin, then ascends a steep forested slope to reach the plateau leading to the summit.
