Various P&Rs

Bring a National Park Pass if you have one.

This is a strenuous, but not very technical trip.  You should be in good condition and have some biking experience.

Bicycle required.  Either mountain bike or hybrid is fine.  Not suitable for road bike.

We'll park at the Carbon River Entrance and then bike 5+ miles (600' elevation gain) on the closed road to Isput Creek where we will lock up the bikes and start hiking.

Hike about 6 miles on trail (4000' elevation gain).

Then a moderate scramble for about 1 mile with 900' elevation gain.

Plan on 11 or 12 hours round trip.

I don't expect any snow on the route, so ice ax is not required.  Poles may be useful.  Select footwear that is good for trail, bike and rock scrambling.
