We will meet at the Koppen DeRoux Trailhead at 9 am.  There are a couple of washouts along the NF Teanaway Road so carpooling is strongly encouraged.  More detailed instructions will follow.

This is a fun scramble up a seldom visited peak in the beautiful Teanway area.  On a clear day you can see all of the nearby peaks: Koppen, Hawkins, Esmerelda, Iron, Teanaway, and Stuart.  We'll head up to the Koppen-DeRoux saddle on the Koppen Mountain Trail then will take a right, leaving the trail behind.  The route from the saddle is a classic ridge run with a little bit of everything, rock travel, brush bashing, and spectacular views.

The standard  route is an out and back but this route has several great alternatives: heading back to the saddle and up Koppen, dropping off the ridge to the south and checking out some old mine relics, dropping off the ridge to the north to come back via Boulder-DeRoux  trail.   While the standard route will take 4-6 hours be prepared to spend a little more time for a little more adventure.
