Although unseen from Seattle, Mount Deception (7,788 ft) is the second highest peak in the Olympics. This route offers an immersive journey, mostly over cross country terrain, to achieve this beautiful summit. It's a very strenuous and challenging scramble (nominally 3 days), and uses the Gray Wolf ridge above the Dungeness River valley.

-Although unseen from Seattle, Mount Deception (7,788 ft) is the second highest peak in the Olympics.  This route offers an immersive journey, mostly over cross country terrain, to achieve this beautiful summit. It's a very strenuous and challenging scramble (nominally 3 days), and uses the Gray Wolf ridge above the Dungeness River valley.   Although scheduled for 4 days, we will settle on a 3 day period soon to accommodate vacation times for our party members. The total distance is ~27 miles (~17 miles off trail) and offers a total elevation gain of ~12,500 feet.  Photos can be seen here.
