The paddle went as planned. After paddling to Hope Island for lunch and waited for the tide to change we finished circumnavigating Hope Island before paddling back up Hammersley Inlet. On the way back to Jacoby Shorecrest State Park we explored Mill Creek.

A great day despite continued cold/snowy weather making mountain access difficult for this beautiful 11 mile, 3000 ft. gain trip.
This was a good educational loop trip over West Tigers 1 and 2, with lots of snow on the ground.
Large volumes of new snow made for a generally great skiing experience, coupled with an inside lunch enjoyed at Meany Lodge
an enjoyable day spent outdoors, even if it snowed on us!
A successful conditioning hike in the snow with a great group of scrambling students.
Sunny in the morning, snow storm later, a good day in the winter Cascades
Good snow conditions made for a successful winter scramble on a low-to-moderate avalanche risk day. Very pleasant trip!
Successful trip. Great conditions. 6 hrs car to car.
Day Hike, Mt Walker: Trail well maintained, 2 trees leaning over trail. Toilets at top were un locked and had Toilet Paper. Few people on trail, all were friendly. Even with steady rain, only one or two small puddles on trail.
Long road walk, icy footing in the trees, fantastic views from the top.
Snow conditions make all the difference! A pretty easy trip can become much more challenging with difficult snow and this proved to be the case today. When the snow is like it was today, ice axes and the associated skills in how to use them are a must!
Yup, you need a high clearance vehicle to get to the trailhead...
roads clear and dry; weather cool, made it to the basin.
Steep ascent, short hike, mild descent. Crowded mountain but not a crowded trail. Lots of dogs.
