REGiSTER NOW! GEAR DAY is 4/4. We are offering a great selection of trips for course participants.
Hiking season is underway so why not reach out and thank a volunteer.
Hiked a nine-mile loop to get some training. A very wet day. Some trees down on route.
A good evening hike on Cougar Mountain. The rain mostly held off.
Despite muddy, rainy conditions, nine of us enjoyed 42 bird species including spring migration stars Greater Yellowlegs, a beautiful serenade by some marsh wrens, and a great blue heron. Love when people leave happy!
Blue bird day (literally) on Mt. Si -- tons of new snow from a recent storm.
Mentored lead in a new-to-me area with 11 chatty and friendly folks who weren't afraid to get muddy!
Surfing and exploration at Crescent Beach on the Olympic Peninsula.
This is a nice paddle along interesting shoreline and a great way to extend the mileage of the traditional Gig Harbor triple cross. The weather was good and snow overnight made the scenery more beautiful. Unfortunately we discovered a deceased person on the beach early in the trip which put a damper on our enjoyment of the day.
Although the water in the Bay was calm, we found some fun along the coast.
10 braved cold, icy conditions on this CHS-kick off with plenty of downed branches and uprooted trees but a great view of surrounding mountains from the summit.
This was a pacing hike for the Go Hike series. We hiked 3.2mi down the Sequalitchew Creek trail to Puget Sound.
An early-spring Nordic ski at White Pass
We hiked with a group of 11 Mountaineers after a very windy evening. The park had a few downed trees and large branches(where Tree limbo)was required, we picked up branches from the trail along the way. The park was mudy in some sections but overall not any worse that other days. We hikes along trillium, raven, coyote and along the ridge before you come back down to the parking lot. A nice hike with little wind and no rain!
Trip cancelled at the beach due to winds higher than forecast at the planned launch time, and expected higher than desired winds throughout the day.
A blustery day with all sorts of weather. Sunshine and clear skies in the morning and gusty and raining in the afternoon. Challenging paddling with headwinds all morning and gusty tailwinds in the afternoon with great surfing opportunities.
10 of us experienced lovely snow conditions, low winds, great conversation about one hiker's recent PCT thru-hike, and a raging waterfall along with surprising SUNSHINE, 12 bird species, and a mountain beaver that nearly stumped us all.
