Very nice people, Crystal mt guide explained wildflowers. Less of a walk than I expected until the guide took us off the roads onto a very scenic trail.
A nice scramble to a summit with views of Sloan Peak and limited other peaks due to the smoke.
Kayaked from Port Hard to Coal Harbor rounding Cape Scott (aka "North Vancouver Island Circular Route Trail"). Camped on wilderness beaches. Saw whales, sea lions, and sea otters.
Beautiful start to a Saturday. left the Parking lot with 0-7 knot of wind and the AQI at unhealthy levels for all during this screech of Canadian smoke down draft. Seasoned climbers an 3 students made the approach mostly on trail in under two hours. One team ahead slowed us a bi and topped uott as the second was unaware he was suppose to back clean;-? smiled the scramble portion and all were down to the cars breathing fin and bak to the car in 8 eight hours
Quick scramble near Steven's Pass. Route to lake becoming popular. Time to find a new fun spot!
Trip was a great success. Lots of smoke in the air from the BC fires, though.
Temperature was in the 90's with a smokey haze from fires. Paddled up the shoreline to Big Fishtrap from Boston Harbor and back. The tide was falling but was able to get all the way to the end of little and big Fishtrap inlets. No wind to speak of. It was warm but felt good on water. Some paddlers practiced rolls. Launched at 6pm and returned by 8:30pm. The Boat launch was a busy place at the start.
Canceled due to "unhealthy air quality" and ranger recommendation due to smoke from B.C. fires.
Can summit without touching snow.
This was a stunningly beautiful trip to high meadows, Royal lake, and the upper basin where we wanted to live forever!
A 3/4 day in paradise. Good climbing with good company.
It was a great day. Fun climbing with a good group.
Hot, dusty, lots of wildflowers at Eunice Lake.
Fun, good rock and easy to protect. A great day with a great crew.
A successful, small-party, mid-week scramble during the heat of the summer.
On a warm sunny day, 7 scramblers enjoyed the views from the 2 planned summits plus an unnamed bonus summit.
Party of 4 climbed and summited SFJ / South West ridge and Mt. Maude / South ridge (7/29-7/30) from Leroy Creek Basin.
