Completed counter-clockwise loop, starting at Luhr’s Landing, paddling across Nisqually Reach to Anderson Island, paddling along the SW side of Anderson Island to Andy’s Marine Park, crossing back over Nisqually Reach to Tolmie State Park, then returning to Luhr’s Landing.
Breathtaking vistas plus lots of ‘find the fossil trail’ practice on this challenging one way traverse (~17 miles, ~5500’ gain). A great place to escape crowds and civilization.
3500 CFS. Average moving time 4.8 mph. 2 hours moving time. 2 1/2 hours from put in to take out. A wide and scenic reach, characterized by class II rapids and many islands to navigate around. The S-Bends, class III drops, were the most exciting and challenging but straightforward at this level.
About 3 miles each way on logging Road 2700, with about twenty minutes spent on the South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group's Kennedy Creek Salmon Trails, and a half mile each way on an unmaintained path to Kennedy Falls.

Firm snow at the junction of winter and summer routes. Cornices next to lookout prevented us from coming up to lookout.
This was a very enjoyable scramble with generally good snow conditions. Lots of time in the fog, but plenty of time in the sun with great views.
10+ mile hike, mostly on a road, above the Elwa river. An opportunity to walk next to your group. Beautiful campground and a nice opportunity to soak in hot springs wait for you at the top!
Paddled south about 3.5 miles from the launch at Tillicum beach, had lunch on the beach near the end of Camano Island, and came back up on the returning tide.
Anacortes to Turn Island, Doe Island and back to Anacortes

Students completed sail #3 class requirements. All students were engaged in the trip from departing, setting sail, and returning to the dock.
Snow Creek 890 to Mt. Zion is a nice trail through old, tall trees and rhododendrons. The driving approach is rough.
A plan for a longer ski tour turned into a scramble of Black Peak with skis for transport on a gorgeous Spring day.
I cut my participation short as I found the alternative route we had to use due to logging steep, rooted, and rocky. It was fun riding back to the car though.
