We went from sea level to the highest point in the city... High Point! We saw the new troll down at Coleman pool (I highly recommend you check it out) and interacted with MANY free little libraries.
A beautiful trip on the Columbia River west of Longview taking advantage of tidal flows in both directions. Exploration of the slough between Gull and Crimms Islands was a highlight.

Seattle Backpacking Intermediate Program Trip - Key Exchange trip with Northbound & Southbound groups - late August 2023. Trip highlight was traversing the "knife Edge" & some participants summited "Old Snowy"
A pristine valley guarded by stinging sentinels, the northern aspect route of Tamanos might best be done earlier in the season. Originally included a basic rock traverse of Main Cowlitz - Double Peak, but our warmer summer made negotiating the Sarvant Glacier problematical (along with an elevated air quality index in 160s, the following day).
The scramble itself was not technical, but the off-trail travel and the traverse from chinook peak to crystal peak was tons of fun.

A five-day one-way backpack from the Middle Fork near North Bend to Salmon la Sac near Rosyln, with the objective of visiting the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness including the west-east passage at Dutch Miller Gap and north-south passage at La Bohn Gap.
We hiked to Lake Stuart with great views of Mt. Stuart and Argonaut Peak .
