Successful sunny 5,000 ft elevation gain Christmas Eve Day up Teebone Ridge .
A great early season snowshoe trip with fluffy snow!
A nice winter scramble close to home
Successful summit of Mildred Point in MRNP for a great party of 5.
Reached the summit thanks to a plowed road, early start, and strong group.
Original plan was to go to Mt Catherine, but due to stupidity on our part, we tried to drive the last 200 yards to the parking lot and got stuck. Then when finally getting back toward the "T", we were blocked a stuck truck which we helped dig out. Having lost two hours, we decide to just go to Lake Annette. Remember: Never drive on snow covered dirt roads. You will get stuck. Use two wheel drive for going in. 4 wheel drive is only for getting back out. Always bring a good shovel. The snowshoe trip to Lake Annette was very pleasant. Very cold with light snow falling, but some blue sky. We also went around the lake an ascended up the slope on the far side for awhile, but did not reach the base of Abiel before we turned around.
Another beautiful December paddle with an unexpected surprise.
Wonderful North Cascade views and a great 5000' workout in single digit (°F) temperatures.
Really enjoyed paddling with all nice people. Cold day, but no wind---- nice we saw many many sealions , visited Rohnda/Chris house with Statue of Liberty. Great Trip, Lisa !
Great trip. People were all having fun and the leader, Chris coached those who requested help.
Epic snowshoe ramble to the roof of the Olympics
Great trail for beginners and seasoned skiers wanting to train for the season. Flat with pretty lake views, bathrooms along the way, in and out trail equaling about 8 miles total, so turn around whenever you like!
Plan this trip with a low tide, so that you can access the small beach. Stay off the tidelands, however, as they are leased.
