Party of 7 successfully summit-ed Ararat Mountain (MRNP) on 1/22/17.
It was a fun trip. Lots of snow and sunshine.
A quick trip up Pratt Mountain in surprisingly good weather.
The routes was easy to follow as many have been doing the Rampart Ridge Loop. Good for the family.
A perfect winter sunrise summit of Mount St Helens.
Skied to "Y" then went up to the right, un-groomed and down the left road, groomed.
Turned around at the top of Pitch-1. Thin ice and poor snow conditions. Maybe too early in the season.
Brilliant sunshine and deep powder snow made for a beautiful trip, though pushing through the snow was laborious enough that we declared ourselves satisfied with a loop over Cairn Hill.
At the end of the snowshoe, there was some questions about the two peaks visible to the west of the parking lot at the Sno-Park. Based on the compass bearings I shot, I believe the peak on the left is Tinkham Peak - East and the peak on the right was Silver Peak.
Strenuous winter scramble from Carbon road. Enjoyed a wonderful bluebird day in seldom visited area of rainier in winter.
Beautiful, clear day with pleasant temperatures and snow conditions. Views of Adams, Hood, St Helens, Little Tahoma, the Tatoosh range and, of course, Rainier.
Excellent trip. temperature, snow conditions, strong individuals, all made for a fun and fulfilling outing.

A pleasant day out on a straightforward route.
Knowing that a major winter storm was approaching, we chose Pratt because most of the route is protected from winds by trees, it has low avalanche risk, and it is on the west side of the pass in case the pass closes due to snow and ice on the roadway.
