Great three day trip, with fantastic weather and a successful summit for a party of nine.
Unpleasant class 3+ dirt and ash wallowing leads to an iconic summit
A foggy Monday morning hike for 3 people from CHS-2 resulted in hearing 9 bird species, picking lots of berries, and enjoying peaceful solitude (only 4 others on the trail for the day).
I turned and watched glittering Ross Lake slide away out of my sight as I said a silent thank you again for another happy week of good memories. Every time I think the group can’t get better it does and this one will be very tough to beat. Everybody was so kind, considerate and helpful that it was just a joy to be around them in or out of our boats. I hope that there are now three more people who can understand why I say that Ross Lake is a magical place to be in a sea kayak!
A hike with beautiful views and lots to explore.
We hiked from Sunriste to Frozen Lake along Sourdough Ridge. From Frozen Lake, we dropped down into Berkeley Park and returned by way of Shadow Lake. Flowers were spectacular and we saw Mountain Goats, too.
Yakima and Seymour scrambles. Seymour via the "short" route.
A playful bikepacking social outing on the Cedar River trail network with Karen, Blake, and Laura, Saturday July 19th, 2025
Mostly a straightforward trail with a touch of route finding and class 2-3 scrambling.
Day trip out of Boston Harbor, circumnavigating Steamboat and Hope Islands with exploration of Squaxin Passage features and Belspeox Cove at Squaxin Island.
Perfect weather to explore the rarely visited Sugarloaf after tagging McClure Rock.
Fun scramble. Not as spicy or exposed as expected.
The trail to Emmons Moraine and then the moraine itself provides a perfect place to ponder the geology of Washington and look for flowers, trees, and lots of other things.
Bees! Otherwise a fun quick trip up the scramble route.
Excellent day out with everyone in our group opting to climb Cinderella from the Green Glacier.
Trail maintenance performed on Bog trail at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. Black bear presence in the area caused our work zone to move to new spot.
Beautiful private Friday hike with my husband and dog to Hope and Trap Lakes (southbound PCT) via the Tunnel Creek Trailhead. WA Conservation Corps is working about .33 miles from the start - beware big holes. Fish are jumping and the scenery is gorgeous.
4 night 5 days. Hiked counter clockwise. Took our time to enjoy this beautiful hike
