This area has an abundance of seasonal huckleberries, there are multiple swimming opportunities, and you'll probably see as many or more lakes on this trip than on any other.

Ingalls Creek is a moderate, 11 mile in-and-out day hike with 1,450 ft in elevation gain. The trail goes up the creek past rapids and through forests.
Backcountry Skiing
The backcountry ski tour into Ingalls Peak Bowls is a strenuous, 6 mile route with 3,200 ft in elevation gain. The bowls from Ingalls Peak and Ingalls Lake offer a variety of steep and open slopes. There is avalanche danger so it is best to be familiar with the area.

Ingalls Peak - South Peak is a scramble of 11 miles with 3,600 feet of gain. An intermediate scramble with a few exposed moves.

A fun, three-pitch rock climb on good rock with a few 5.2-5.3 moves and some exposure. Enjoy the approach through an Alpine Larch forest and views of Mount Stuart. Expect snow in June and early July, and hot temperatures by August. Times: 3-4 hr approach, 3-5 hr climb to summit. This is a great first alpine rock climb. It's also very popular—consider one of the alternate basic rock climbs, the Ingalls Peak/Southwest Face or Ingalls Peak/East Peak/Southwest Face.

The Interglacier ski tour at Mount Rainier is an advanced, 12 mile round trip with 5,200 ft in elevation gain. The trail up follows the White River before switchbacking up to Glacier Basin. There are crevasses towards the top and there is an avalanche potential.
