This is a great trail from which to observe the blast zone and some equipment that was destroyed in the blast. At the top of the lookout site you will be rewarded with a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.

Surprise Lake is located 6.5 miles into a 15 mile lollipop loop below Gilbert Peak, the highest peak in the Goat Rocks. Extend the trip and see Conrad Basin's waterfalls and Conrad Creek. The area is popular for horses.
