Three days of trips and surfing on the Pacific Coast.
A beautiful trip. We had so much fun, we did it twice.
Blue bird sky, chilly February air, hair ice, adult bald eagles were a few of our favorite things as we shared the Blue Loop at Tacoma's most awesome urban park on our Welcome to Hiking hike today.
Two of us enjoyed sunny, frigid conditions this morning on Tiger, starting from High Point and looping past Murat's Bridge, K3, and Ruth's Cove. While the plan was to see Tiger 1 and 2, our turnaround time for work meant cutting the loop short about 300' below both summits. Still a win in our books.
14 day immersion into the mountain, wetlands, beach, village, urban, farm, bird life, wild life and cultural life of Cuba
Mount Walker pre-game Super Bowl Sunday! The 6" or so of snow was well packed down by this Sunday. Donned Micro Spikes but could have gone on without them. Beautiful Day. More dogs than people on the trail today. Getting them exercised before the game, I'd imagine.
Cold temps, and three feet of recent snow made for the best sliding conditions you could hope for
Six-hour hike of Mailbox Peak in true Winter conditions.
Better than expected weather for an excellent “Introduction to Currents” class at Deception Pass.
Wintry conditions with sunny skies along sparkling S Fork Snoqualmie River to the cascades of several waterfalls
The trail was easy to follow, light snow and ice. Haystack was passible but dangerous, microspikes at minimum.
Snowshoe on 2/1/25 from Deer Creek to Big Four Rec Area. Great snow. Should have XC skied!
A very nice hike to a beautiful lake basin with golden larch trees just past their peak color. And for those that demand more, there is a steep and challenging (but not technical) bootpath, much of it through loose scree, up to the summit of Abernathy Peak.
A day hike to an iconic alpine lake on a cool and sunny day in late October.
Nice, easy walk in the forest with some interesting historical artifacts and a river access point near the end. Good signage keeps you on the hiker's trail.
8 of us enjoyed a magical snowy hike from Whittaker Wilderness Trailhead to Whittaker Peak (via Gombu Cliffs), looped to Shy Bear Pass, and over Deceiver to Doughty Falls. We had a good 3-5 inches of fresh snow for over 90% of the hike. Slick in places and snow-laden trees are shedding their snow - be prepared for ice and wet.
Approach road in is clear, parking lot clear, and the trails are in good condition.
Over night trip to Mount Ellinor. Camped at 4500' rather than closer to the summit due to the avalanche danger on the winter route. Experienced several inches of new snow overnight and a full-on winter camping experience!
Eight amazing nights on the Wonderland Trail, with a one-night detour to Yellowstone Cliffs and back.
