A bluebird day snow scramble of a popular and accessible Rainier 100.
Great conditions on the Easton glacier route.
Beautiful hot day for this 2.2 mph paced CHS-2 hike to two alpine lakes that still have snowbanks around the edges and in the Basin. Perfect day for a polar plunge.
Successful Tooth climb for basic students despite some tricky traverses over rapidly melting snow bridges
A successful overnight climb of Sherman Peak via the Squak Glacier route as part of the Everett Basic Climbing Course graduation. Perfect weather, solid snow conditions, and a scenic summit made for a smooth and rewarding weekend.
Completed this trip in difficult conditions - fog and 6 foot swells.
Planned trip from Shi Shi Beach to Lake Ozette, turned around in good conditions.
Recommendations for navigating to Cape Flattery in the Fog from Hobuck.
This is one of my favorite spring scrambles! We enjoyed 10/10 scenery on a perfect bluebird day!
A harder than expected snow scramble to Boundary peak.
An early June day hike to Norse Peak using trail 1191 (Parked at Gold Hill Road gate).
We had a beautiful, sunny day to scramble Tamanos from the northern end of the Owyhigh Lakes Trail. A black bear ambled across the road while we were putting our boots on at the trailhead--what a way to celebrate National Black Bear Day!
Great first big trip of the summer, but my legs would say otherwise.
Snow on route is gone. What's left on the descent is going fast.
One day ski mountaineering climb of Koma Kulshan/Mt Baker via Squak Glacier for a team of three climbers
Overnight trip to Pete Lake as a field trip for the Seattle Basic Backpacking Course.
Beautiful coast, nice group. We adjusted the itinerary to account for demanding conditions and total average fitness of the group. Tides, seaweed strewn craggy rocks, and overland traverse are no joke! Gorgeous shoreline and great camping. Glad to be with a group willing to take the pulse and adjust to keep everyone safe.
This was an exploratory trip down the Samish River. Only 50cfs, which was not enough, but even if there'd been more water, there were big trees down EVERYWHERE. Not a navigable route.
A sporty glacier climb with close-up views of Mt Baker.
Eight climbers enjoyed a day of cragging at Keechelus Ridge. Many climbers got to experience a new-to-them crag, and more experienced climbers helped newer climbers develop their skills.
