Our team did the YJT on June 12th, 2016. We had a team of 7 people and ran this as three climbing teams. No snow present, we were about 12 hours car to car. Note, this was a backup climb from Unicorn where we were weathered out 2 days earlier.
6/12/16. 1-day trip. 13 hours car to car. Good conditions.
Great trip, car to car in 12 hours.
Trip started out with an extra mile of hiking due to road closure due to washouts. Weather was less than desirable most of the day. Trip was successful.
Very enjoyable trip mostly on trail, then very steep slopes to the summit with some route finding challenges.
Fantastic easy one night backpack with a great group. No real bugs, heard one rattlesnake, but was not able spot it. Clear skies, weather in the low 50s at night, low 80s during the day. We were able to have a small campfire.
Nice climb with good people. Only got up Castle.
Overall great climb, resulting in 3 basic students getting their first successful rock summit. Despite threatening weather forecast, we enjoyed mostly blue skies and moderate temps.
6/5/2016 trip of Kangaroo Temple in hot early season conditions. Long but fun day in the awesome Washington Pass area. Image of the team descending the pass on the hike out.
Strenuous but not technical 3 day Glacier climb. Please note the trail will be closed after July 27th. A notice was posted, but no explanation given.
We left the trailhead at 8:45 AM and were back at 3:30 PM. Lots of trees on trail, our trip actuary/historian put the number of trees down at 62, we ran into snow at about 4800'. The weather was a bit more moist than we would have liked, but a good trip anyway.
Three day alpine traverse/climb visiting Mount Fricaba, Mount Mystery, and Royal Basin. The entire trip was ~18 miles, ~8500' elevation gain with ~7 miles of off trail travel.
This trip was actually to Greenleaf Overlook along the PCT near Bonneville Dam. Further along the PCT is Table Mountain.
Beautiful hike along basalt cliffs overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.
2 day climb over a very hot weekend via the DC. Camped at Muir - route is in great condition.
Trip halted due to weather exceeding capabilities of students.
This hike was a nice workout, with interesting natural features along the way and a jaw dropping view at the top to make it really worthwhile.
route snow free and in great condition. approach is half snow. it was a great time to do the route :>)
